Bryant's father silenced those whispers by confirming to ESPN.com on Monday night that his son has decommitted from the Sooners.
Bryant, ranked No. 30 in the ESPN 150 and No. 2 at running back, committed to OU on an unofficial visit March 31. However, since his commitment, Bryant has not seen the Oklahoma campus and has visited Auburn and South Carolina.
When asked to confirm his son's decommitment, Greg Bryant Sr. texted, "Lil Greg decommitted from Oklahoma."
Bryant had reiterated his allegiance to the Sooners over the past month. On Twitter, though, he was encouraging fans from OU, Auburn and South Carolina to show him support.
Bryant was the top-ranked commitment for the Sooners.
Although the loss is a major one, the Sooners also have the commitment of Cypress (Texas) Ranch running back Keith Ford. Ford is ranked No. 3 at running back and No. 32 in the ESPN 150.
