Hyde, a team captain, is one of the top defensive backs in the Big Ten. He is third on the Hawkeyes with 33 tackles this season and led the conference with 11 pass breakups last year.
Also, Hawkeyes tight end Ray Hamilton was cited early Saturday for being on the premises of a licensed liquor establishment after hours, and offensive lineman Drew Clark was arrested for public intoxication.
"I was disappointed to learn of the events involving three team members, as all three of these student-athletes have been good citizens during their time in our program," Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz said in a statement released Saturday night. "We will follow protocol set by the UI student-athlete Code of Conduct, as well as taking additional measures within the program."
The Hawkeyes had a bye this weekend and play at Michigan State next Saturday.
