Alabama, Kansas State 1-2 in BCS
Kansas State has pulled into a prime spot behind No. 1 Alabama in an open race spread out among four unbeaten teams.
With the second spot for the BCS National Championship game vacated by Florida after its loss to Georgia a day earlier, the Wildcats are the new No. 2 team in the BCS standings released Sunday.
Notre Dame moved from fifth up to No. 3, while high-scoring Oregon remained No. 4.
The Ducks sit second in both polls used in the BCS calculations -- as well as the AP poll -- but are ranked fifth in the computers, which make up a third of the standings.

Kansas State and Notre Dame are tied for first in the computer rankings, while Alabama is third and Florida fourth. Kansas State is third in the polls, one ahead of the Fighting Irish.
Oregon's upcoming schedule could help solve the Ducks' computer problem. Oregon plays three opponents in the BCS top 25 (Southern California, Stanford and Oregon State) in its last four games, starting with the Trojans in Los Angeles on Saturday. The Pac-12 title game, if the Ducks get there, should give Oregon another quality opponent.
Notre Dame, with four games left, faces only one more team with a winning record (USC). Kansas State has three winning teams in its four remaining opponents, though only No. 25 Texas is in the BCS top 25.
