Buckeyes to play Aztecs next season
Ohio State has added a home game with San Diego State in 2013, completing its non-league schedule for next season.
The Buckeyes will host the Aztecs on Sept. 7 at Ohio Stadium. The teams have met three times before, all at Ohio Stadium and all resulting in Ohio State victories.
Ohio State needed to scramble after Vanderbilt canceled a season-opening game in Columbus in 2013. The Buckeyes now will open against Buffalo, a game originally scheduled for Sept. 21. A game against Florida A&M, originally scheduled for Sept. 7, now will take place Sept. 21. Ohio State visits California on Sept. 14.
"San Diego State is a fine football program, and we are happy to be able to add them to our schedule," Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith said in a statement. "We have had an excellent relationship with SDSU over the years."
Ohio State recently has finalized future games with Texas, Oregon, TCU and Boston College.
