Driskel is in a walking boot and will not practice Monday or Tuesday, but the sixth-ranked Gators (9-1) hope he'll return Wednesday, Muschamp said.
If Driskel can't practice Wednesday, fellow sophomore Jacoby Brissett will make his second start of the season.
"Right now, they [team doctors] just think he would be doubtful for the game," Muschamp said. "We're going to continue to work through the week to see if he can do anything. If he can, great, if he can't, we'll move forward."
Driskel has started the past nine games at quarterback since he and Brissett both started the season opener against Bowling Green (Driskel lined up at receiver). He has completed 64.8 percent of his passes for 1,324 yards and 10 touchdowns with three interceptions. He also is UF's second-leading rusher, with 424 yards and four touchdowns on 97 carries.
Driskel was injured when he was tackled by Louisiana-Lafayette defensive tackle Jalen Fields late in the third quarter of the Gators' 27-20 victory.
Brissett completed 6 of 8 passes for 64 yards and one touchdown against the Ragin' Cajuns. He has thrown only 13 passes this season.
Brissett played in eight games last season and completed 18 of 39 passes for 206 yards with two touchdowns and four interceptions. He started the LSU and Auburn games and played the entire second half of the FSU game because of injuries to starter John Brantley.
