Ohio State fans cheer Jim Tressel
Ohio State fans gave former coach Jim Tressel a standing ovation Saturday at Ohio Stadium.
Tressel returned for the 10-year anniversary celebration of the 2002 national championship team.
Players from the 2002 team lifted Tressel on their shoulders during an on-field celebration between the first and second quarters of the game against Michigan.
Tressel resigned as Ohio State's coach in May 2011 in the wake of the fallout from players trading championship rings, jerseys and other memoribilia for tattoos. Ultimately, Ohio State received one year of probation and was banned from postseason play in 2012 by the NCAA.
Tressel declined to be interviewed by ESPN.
