COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina starting quarterback Connor Shaw will miss spring practice after having surgery on his left foot Friday.
Team physician Dr. Jeffrey Guy said Shaw's surgery for a left foot sprain was successful, but he added that Shaw would not recover in time to take part in spring workouts.
Shaw injured his foot in a victory over Tennessee on Oct. 27. After sitting out the final regular-season game against Clemson, Shaw played in the Outback Bowl and aggravated the injury in a 33-28 win over Michigan.
Guy said Shaw was expected to make a full recovery.
Freshman linebacker Cedrick Cooper had surgery on his left knee Friday. Guy said Cooper also is expected to fully recover but will miss spring practices.
