CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Former Nebraska football player Brion Carnes has announced he'll transfer to Northern Iowa.
Carnes wrote on his Facebook page Wednesday that he would enroll at the Football Championship Subdivision school in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Carnes appeared in three games in 2011 as the backup to quarterback Taylor Martinez before switching to wide receiver in the middle of last season. He appeared in no games in 2012. He announced after spring practice that he planned to transfer.
Carnes, who will be a junior in eligibility this fall, is able to play immediately for the Panthers.
