Dri Archer leaves with leg injury
KENT, Ohio -- Kent State star running back Dri Archer was knocked out of the Golden Flashes' opening game against Liberty with a leg injury.
Archer, who was being promoted by the school as a Heisman Trophy candidate, was on the sideline with a protective boot on his left foot during the second half.
Archer ran for 1,429 yards and averaged 9.0 yards per carry last season. The senior had three carries for 10 yards against Liberty, and Kent State won 17-10.
