JONESBORO, Ark. -- Arkansas State coach Bryan Harsin says gray jerseys that cost his team 28 yards in penalties at Auburn last weekend may be brought out of the box again.

The Red Wolves' former coach, Gus Malzahn, bought the jerseys last year for use in a bowl game. Malzahn left Arkansas State at the end of 2012 and now coaches Auburn, and Arkansas State decided to wear the gray uniforms against its former coach.

An NCAA rule says the home team has to agree in writing for a visiting team to wear solid-colored jerseys. Arkansas State was found in violation at the start of each half. Harsin said the penalties had nothing to do with Arkansas State's 38-9 loss and that the team might wear the uniforms again this season.
