Clemson suspends Germone Hopper

Clemson reserve receiver Germone Hopper has been suspended for the Boston College game, coach Dabo Swinney said in a statement Friday.

Reserve defensive back Ronald Geohaghan also was suspended. Swinney said both players will miss the game for a team rules violation and "poor behavior."

Hopper is second on the team with 16 receptions, totaling 117 yards and two touchdowns. Geohaghan has played in three of five games this year.

Of the two, Hopper has had the bigger role for the Tigers this season, as the coaches have worked to develop him into a reliable option in the pass game -- especially with Charone Peake out for the year with a torn ACL.

Hopper, a redshirt freshman, came into Clemson as one of the top-ranked prep receivers in the country. His best game this season came against South Carolina State last month.
