Kenny Miles shot, in stable condition
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Authorities say former South Carolina running back Kenny Miles was shot in the arm during a robbery in the parking lot of a business park in suburban Columbia.
Richland County Sheriff's spokesman Curtis Wilson says the 23-year-old Miles was shot Monday afternoon while in the parking lot located on a dead-end street not far from Interstate 26 near Irmo.
Wilson said Miles was in stable condition at a hospital. Football team physician Dr. Jeffrey Guy issued a statement later Monday saying Miles had received a soft-tissue injury from a gunshot wound in his forearm. Guy said Miles was expected to be released from the hospital Tuesday.
Miles spent most of his career with the Gamecocks backing up Marcus Lattimore. He ran for 1,341 yards on 315 carries.
