Brooks, of Division III Heidelberg University, ran for 465 yards, setting an all-division NCAA record, in a 42-14 win over Baldwin Wallace on Saturday.
The record was held by Western Connecticut's Octavias McKoy, who piled up 455 yards rushing against Worcester State on Oct. 26. Prior to McKoy's record-setting performance, Dante Brown of Marietta's mark of 441 yards stood since 1996.
Brooks carried the ball 38 times and scored on runs of 81, 41 and 13 yards.
Brooks set the Heidelberg single-game records for rushing yards and touchdowns last month when he ran for 337 yards and five scores. He finished the regular season with a school-record 1,704 yards rushing.
LaDainian Tomlinson holds the FBS single-game record with 406 rushing yards.
"We had a good game today," Brooks told the school's website. "This could be our last game, so we wanted to play well for our seniors. I just followed my blocks."
Tusculum's Cordell set a Div. II record for career total offense in his final college game while throwing for 569 yards in a 49-42 victory over Mars Hill.
Cordell went 34 of 56 with five touchdown passes and two interceptions to close his college career with 16,432 total yards. That broke the record of Jimmy Terwilliger, who had 16,064 yards in total offense for East Stroudsburg from 2003-06.
Cordell already owned the Div. II career records for yards passing and pass completions. His final career totals rank him third in yards passing (16,265) and completions (1,397) and fourth in total offense among all players regardless of classification.
Houston Texans quarterback Case Keenum holds the NCAA overall career records in completions, yards passing and total offense. Keenum had 1,546 completions for 19,217 yards and gained 20,114 yards in total offense for the Houston Cougars from 2007-11.
