Scott Shafer goes out a winner. Cole Murphy hits a 38-yard FG at the buzzer for a 20-17 Syracuse win over Boston College. The look on Shafer's and his players' faces says it all.


Eagles tie it up with 43-yard field goal

Boston College kicker Colton Lichtenberg hits a 43-yard field goal to even the score late in the fourth quarter at Syracuse.


Boston College answers quickly

RB Tyler Rouse runs for a 9-yard touchdown. It only took the Eagles two plays to score. They now trail 17-14 at the Carrier Dome.

Really nice sideline interview on the broadcast just now with Syracuse QB Terrel Hunt, whose sixth-yeah waiver was denied Friday by the NCAA. Of Orange coach Scott Shafer's firing, Hunt said: "I disagree with the decision but that's the way the cookie crumbles. ... I love him."


Phillips breaks loose, sets up touchdown

Ervin Phillips goes in motion to the left, takes the handoff and cuts back to the right for a 31-yard gain to the Boston College 12-yard line. Syracuse scores on the drive to go up 17-7.

Orange hold slim lead at halftime

The Syracuse defense has picked off Boston College QB Jeff Smith twice and has yet to allow a completed pass. The Orange lead 10-7. Watch highlights

It's 10-7 Syracuse at the half. BC has found a bit of a ground attack, with Tyler Rouse rushing for 73 yards and a TD. Jeff Smith, meanwhile, is 0-for-5 passing with 2 picks.


Orange respond with touchdown

Syracuse ties it up at 7-7 with a seven-play, 65-yard touchdown drive. The Orange punched it in with this 2-yard pass from QB Zack Mahoney to Ervin Philips.

We finally have action at the Carrier Dome. Boston College RB Tyler Rouse runs in for a 1-yard touchdown late in the first quarter.
