Duke offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Scottie Montgomery has agreed to become the head coach at East Carolina, according to ESPN's Joe Schad and multiple reports.

Duke offensive coordinator Scottie Montgomery will become the next head coach at East Carolina, according to ESPN's Joe Schad and multiple reports. He will replace Ruffin McNeill, who was fired last week.

East Carolina routs UCF 44-7

East Carolina quarterback Blake Kemp threw for 448 yards and four touchdowns, both career-highs, as the Pirates routed the Central Florida 44-7 on Thursday night.

East Carolina's Blake Kemp is out of the game with his team up 44-7 over UCF in the fourth quarter, but not before he threw for 448 yards, second-most in school history, with 69 of them coming on this play.


From bad to worse for UCF

It looks like UCF will fall to 0-11, as it's being routed by East Carolina 44-7 entering the fourth quarter on ESPN, thanks in part to Blake Tiralosi fumbling a kickoff return late in the third quarter.

Winless UCF will try anything to get an elusive victory, including a surprise onside kick to open the second half. However, East Carolina forced a punt and continues to lead UCF 31-7.
