On the same day he resigned from Syracuse, AD Mark Coyle was also officially introduced at Minnesota for the same position. "I regret the timing," he said. Coyle cited family and friends as a big reason for the move; he's originally from Iowa.

Syracuse players recovering after stabbings

Syracuse defensive back Corey Winfield was released from the hospital while Chauncey Scissum remains hospitalized after allegedly being stabbed by a former teammate.

Andrea Adelson ESPN Staff Writer

Syracuse coach Dino Babers said Corey Winfield is out of the hospital and expects Chauncey Scissum to be released this weekend after they were stabbed by a former teammate. "It's a very difficult phone call to take," Babers said. "Things happen on the football field and things happen in life. You're always leery of those late calls in the middle of the night. But it's a blessing both of those young men are still with us."
