Both Oklahoma State and West Virginia will be without their defensive leaders Saturday, and for the rest of the season. OSU LB and three-year starter Ryan Simmons suffered a season-ending knee injury last weekend. S Karl Joseph, who injured his knee in a non-contact drill Tuesday, was on pace to break the WVU record for most career defensive starts. Joseph's injury is especially devastating. He had emerged as the early Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year favorite. The Cowboys will miss Simmons' presence, too. But they have a ready-made replacement in former Cal transfer Chad Whitener.
The Oklahoma State Cowboys' defense has lost senior middle linebacker Ryan Simmons for the season because of a knee injury.

Mike Gundy said Oklahoma State should be getting running backs Chris Carson and Rennie Childs back from injury for this weekend at West Virginia. That should give the Oklahoma State offense some boost. Without them, the Cowboys rushed for just 49 yards on 27 carries vs. K-State.
