With Jake Rudock getting the start for Michigan, that means seven teams, including six Top 25 teams, could end up starting QBs this season who were playing elsewhere within the last two years. The wild card is Alabama, but Jake Coker is the expected starter for the Tide. He was with FSU two years ago. Rudock, who threw an interception on his first series, is a graduate transfer from Iowa. The others are Vernon Adams at Oregon (Eastern Washington), Everett Golson at FSU (Notre Dame), Chad Kelly at Ole Miss (Clemson), Greyson Lambert at Georgia (Virginia) and Baker Mayfield at Oklahoma (Texas Tech).

Herbstreit on his expectations for Oklahoma

College GameDay's Kirk Herbstreit covers his predictions for the College Football Playoff, which team will win the SEC East, Georgia's QB situation, the Pac-12 South's strength and Oklahoma's outlook.

Ted Miller ESPN Staff Writer

Has any preseason been more peculiar at quarterback? You have co-starters with the defending national champions and three other top-10 teams starting 1st year transfers (Oregon, Georgia and Florida State). The new FSU QB, Everett Golson, started for Notre Dame in the 2012 national title game. No. 3 Alabama has no starting QB (yet) and No. 13 UCLA is going with a true freshman in Josh Rosen. No. 19 Oklahoma benched returning starter Trevor Knight in favor of Baker Mayfield, an Austin native who started for Texas Tech in 2013 as a true freshman walk-on. And so on.

Vegas experts: Oklahoma Sooners season preview

Phil Steele, "Stanford Steve" Coughlin and Chris Fallica give their takes on the Oklahoma Sooners. What is the best bet for the Sooners' title odds, season win total and more?

Brandon Chatmon ESPN Staff Writer

Oklahoma's depth chart featured a few surprises with WR Jarvis Baxter rising to a starting spot and three true freshmen on the two deep in the secondary. And RB Joe Mixon, despite not being listed at PR or KR, should play a key role as a returner. A lot of unproven talent in Norman.
