Gardner-Webb beats Presbyterian 14-10

Tyrell Maxwell had 202 total yards and hit Mike Estes on a 33-yard scoring pass in the third quarter to lift Gardner-Webb over Presbyterian 14-10 on Saturday.


RB breaks five tackles on way to end zone

South Alabama's Xavier Johnson took a short pass and turned it into a 56-yard TD by shedding multiple defenders before turning on the jets.


Tight end brushes off defenders

Gardner-Webb's Mike Estes shrugged off a couple tackles on his way to the end zone to cut into South Alabama's lead.

After Charlotte kicked a field goal to go up 3-0, J.J. Hubbard returned the ensuing kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown, putting Gardner-Webb on top 7-3.


Wake Forest beats Gardner-Webb, hour delay

John Wolford shook off three interceptions to throw for 291 yards and two touchdowns, and Wake Forest used a stifling defense to beat Gardner-Webb 23-7 to give new coach Dave Clawson his first victory.
