The Border War ceasefire must end

Kansas and Missouri had a thriving rivalry that went back to the 19th century. Then conference realignment ruined a great thing. Both athletic directors are friendly, and there's hope the game will return. Rivalries that should be back on the schedule

Kansas spring game: What we learned

The defense outplayed the offense, apparent in the four interceptions thrown by Jayhawks quarterbacks and an anemic running game.

Brandon Chatmon ESPN Staff Writer

"I think he's got some explosiveness that I don't think we possessed last year, so it's good to see him out there. I thought he did some good things. He also did a few things that he's got to try not to do too much, and that's what happens when you haven't played in a while." -Kansas HC David Beaty on WR LaQuvionte Gonzalez. The Texas A&M transfer had 6 receptions for 115 yards including a 61-yard touchdown on a catch-and-run in the Jayhawks spring game.

Watch: Kansas spring game

Optimism isn't something typically associated with the Jayhawks in recent years. Changing that negative perception is something mostly done in the fall, but an impressive spring performance can certainly get things moving in the right direction. Live on ESPN3
