Freshmen refreshers: 2015 LBs to know

It’s about that time. The first game of the college football season is just three days away. That means plenty of true freshmen will be hitting the national radar for the first time as college players.

As expected, Texas coach Charlie Strong named junior Tyrone Swoopes his starting QB on Monday. Strong said he's know that would be the plan for several weeks. "He's won over the team," Strong said. The Longhorns still plans to use backup QB Jerrod Heard at some point against Notre Dame on Saturday.

LB Malik Jefferson and WR John Burt should make 4 true freshman to start the opener with several on the two deep. Charlie Strong is definitely going with his guys, looks to be a strong Class of 2015

Monday, Texas unveiled its Week 1 depth chart, which included a pair of true freshman starters on the offensive line in left tackle Connor Williams and right guard Patrick Vahe. Charlie Strong, a former defensive coordinator, acknowledged he expects Notre Dame to come after his QB Tyrone Swoopes early and often Saturday. "If I see two freshman linemen, I'm gonna blitz you."
