Virginia Tech takes lead from NC State

Hokies QB Brenden Motley put his team on top after hitting Isaiah Ford near the pylon midway through the 2nd quarter on ESPN.

Virginia Tech QB Brendan Motley took a big hit to the sternum a few minutes ago, but he didn't miss a play. He made a few more big throws on this last drive, the final one a second touchdown to Isaiah Ford. The Hokies offense is finally coming alive in 2015. They lead NC State 14-10 as halftime nears.


Hokies score on stop-and-go TD pass

Virginia Tech put its first points on the board with this beautiful 27-yard TD pass from Brenden Motley to Isaiah Ford. However, the Hokies still trail 10-7 in the second.


Wolfpack score on nifty catch in end zone

NC State jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the 2nd quarter against Virginia Tech thanks to this beautiful throw and catch TD from Jacoby Brissett to Jumichael Ramos.

That was a great offensive drive from NC State. The Wolfpack mixed up passes, runs, jet sweeps, options and used a number of formations and shifts. NC State is controlling the game against Virginia Tech and leads 10-0 in the second quarter.

Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Brewer is listed as probable for Friday's game against NC State. Brewer broke his collarbone against Ohio State and was just cleared to practice this week. Frank Beamer said, "It didn't surprise me how well he threw (Tuesday)."

Virginia Tech QB Brewer cleared to practice

Michael Brewer, originally expected to miss eight to 10 weeks, broke his left collarbone in the Hokies' season-opening loss to No. 1 Ohio State.

Virginia Tech quarterback Michael Brewer has been cleared to practice this week after breaking his collarbone against Ohio State and missing the last four games. The school said his status against NC State on Friday "could potentially be a game-time decision."
