Marshall continues bowl dominance
The Thundering Herd boast the highest winning percentage in bowl games among teams with at least 10 appearances.
The Thundering Herd have now won five straight bowl games, stamping themselves as one of the most reliable teams around the holidays.
Chase Litton went 23-for-34 for 218 yards and one touchdown as Marshall won its 10th game this season by beating Connecticut 16-10 in the St. Petersburg Bowl on Saturday.

The Thundering Herd are tied for the longest active FBS streak with four straight bowl wins entering the St. Petersburg Bowl (11 a.m. ET on ESPN). They are also going for a third consecutive 10-win season. UConn, on the other hand, is in a bowl game for the first time since the 2010 Fiesta Bowl. The Huskies are playing for their first winning season since that same year.

St. Petersburg Bowl teams announced
Marshall and UConn will face off in the St. Petersburg Bowl, held between C-USA and the American. The game, which will be played at Tropicana Field, will take place at 11 a.m. on ESPN on Dec. 26.
Brandon Doughty threw for 370 yards, including five touchdowns, as Western Kentucky routed Marshall 49-28 to win the East Division of Conference USA on Friday.
Chase Litton threw three TD passes and Remi Watson ran for two as Marshall blanked Florida International, 52-0 on Saturday.
Brent Stockstill threw for 353 yards with three touchdown passes to lead Middle Tennessee to a 27-24 triple-overtime upset victory against Marshall on Saturday night.
