Bama faces behemoth of a schedule

According to ESPN's FPI, Alabama's schedule is the fifth-hardest in FBS. September may have the real teeth on the slate, but a stretch in October isn't going to be a day at the beach, either. Toughest schedules (Insider)

Who will be Bama's QB?

Another year, another QB race for an Alabama team that seems to have everything else in place on offense. The future is already on campus in Tuscaloosa, but which path will Nick Saban & Co. go down? Contenders with worst QB situations (Insider)

Titans coach Mike Mularkey called DeMarco Murray shortly after the team drafter Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry in the second round. Coach told the veteran, "You're still going to be the guy who carries the load for us." There won't be drop off when you come out.

Titans drafted Derrick Henry 45th in the second round. The last time a Heisman Trophy running back was drafted outside the first round was 1951 when Dick Kazmaier was a 15th-round pick. He never played in the NFL, opting to go to business school. Two other Heisman RBs were undrafted in the common draft. Mike Rozier went in the supplemental draft (as a first-round pick). Pete Dawkins pursued a military career.

New Titans RB Derrick Henry lists Eddie George as his football role model. He'll have an easy connection with his fellow Heisman Trophy-winner after being drafted by the same franchise that selected George 14th overall in 1996 -- when Henry was 2 years old.

Bama boys among Mel's favorite picks

Mel Kiper Jr. was surprised to see Crimson Tide defensive tackles A'Shawn Robinson and Jarran Reed sliding well into Round 2, but the Lions and Seahawks, respectively, became the beneficiaries. Winners and question marks (Insider)

Ragland was the right pick for Buffalo

Todd McShay had Reggie Ragland ranked as the 18th-best player in the draft class. What Ragland lacks in pass coverage he more than makes up for in other attributes. Best/riskiest picks of Day 2 (Insider)

Reed was the right pick for Seattle

The Seahawks got the player who, according to Todd McShay, is the best interior run defender in this draft class. Jarran Reed was not only great value at No. 49, but also filled a need for the team as well. Best/riskiest picks of Round 2 (Insider)

Derrick Henry: Wanted to go in first round. But been dreaming of being a draft pick and playing in the NFL since I was a little kid. Fuel to the fire. Been doubted before. Not new to me. Ready to go out and prove myself.

Paul Kuharsky ESPN Staff Writer

Derrick Henry is the fourth RB drafted by the Titans since 2014, most in the NFL. The 49ers and Texans drafted three. That's not a good development in the NFL circa 2016.

Bio Blast: Jarran Reed

Seattle jumped up to No. 49 to select the Alabama product. Reed was a second-team All-SEC selection in 2015.

Jon Robinson (left) on Derrick Henry: Big, physical, fast. Embodies what Titans want to be about. Don't discount him in the pass game. "We have two workhorse backs now" with Henry and DeMarco Murray.

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Wouldn't want to square up RB Derrick Henry for 4 quarters. Beast. 4.5 speed. Wears down the defense. Look for the Titans to pound the rock with Henry and DeMarco Murray this season.

Stats & Info

Alabama still running the draft

Tennessee selected Derrick Henry with the No. 45 overall pick, making him the seventh running back from Alabama drafted during the Nick Saban era.
