Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher was adamant about the need for coaching staffs to hire full-time mentors to assist players on a daily basis. "These kids are scrutinized more than they ever have been in their entire life," Fisher said at a jobs summit in Orlando. "I couldn't play in today's world. Kids can't make a mistake. As soon as they do, we want to throw them away. Why not have guys working with your team every day to present the things they had success with? A coach can say it, but someone who grew up in their shoes ... why not invest in putting those guys on your staff?"

Scott asked the coaches which state school would win the next national championship. "Florida State," Fisher said. "Chomp chomp," McElwain said. "We're working on getting a first down right now," Richt said to laughter.
