ESPN 25 Power Rankings: Week: 8

Week:

After games of Jan. 13

Finally, we can look forward to some movement at the top of the rankings. Aside from the City of Palms Classic, the Spalding Hoophall Classic is the other major annual event that significantly impacts the national rankings.

That is certain to be the case this weekend as 11 ranked teams will be in attendance, headlined by a matchup of the nation's top two teams with No. 2 Findlay Prep taking on top-ranked Montverde Academy. The two squads met last March with Findlay mounting an epic comeback to claim its second straight NHSI crown.

Other marquee matchups include No. 7 Whitney Young against No. 6 Long Beach Poly and No. 13 Oak Hill Academy taking on No. 14 Simeon and ESPN's networks will carry six of the contests (click here for the TV schedule).

Several teams suffered losses near the bottom of the rankings leading to the addition of six new teams. Bishop Montgomery, Germantown and Bothell make it on the strength of their undefeated records, while WCAC powers Gonzaga and Bishop O'Connell have each made their case with wins over top 25 competition.

Note: This poll is compiled weekly by the RecruitingNation staff. Every high school team is eligible to be ranked as long as its roster does not include any fifth-year seniors.
