espnW 25 Power Rankings: Week 4

Year:
Week:

Another week, another title for No. 1 Mater Dei.

Another week, another potential clash of powerhouses in the espnW 25 Power Rankings.

Another week, another spotless record for No. 4 Duncanville.

Another week, another reason to believe that No. 5 Long Beach Poly will be right in the thick of things when it's time to crown a national champion for 2013-14.

Led by Katie Lou Samuelson, top-ranked Mater Dei improved to 11-0 after toughing out a win over No. 10 St. Mary's (Stockton, Calif.) in the final of the West Coast Jamboree.

Right behind the Monarchs, No. 2 Incarnate Word Academy and No. 3 Blackman are trying to stay on track for a showdown at the Naples Holiday Shootout in Florida.

No. 4 Duncanville, meanwhile, improved its winning streak to 89 games with a statement win over Illinois power Whitney Young.

And Long Beach Poly, which suffered its lone loss of the season to Mater Dei at the Nike Tournament of Champions, is right in the thick of things as it prepares for a big boost from Lajahna Drummer and Emoni Jackson, who become eligible next week.
