Fresno State clinches first national championship
OMAHA, Neb. -- Fresno State made history Wednesday night, wrapping up the national championship with a 6-1 victory over Georgia.
The Bulldogs, the first regional 4-seed to ever win a national championship, happily dogpiled on the field at Rosenblatt Stadium after Matt Olson flied out for the final out of the game.
The victory enabled Fresno State to wrap up its second national team championship in school history. Fresno State's other title came when the 1998 softball team won national championship.
