1-2-3 first inning for UVa and Fullerton

As easy as 1-2-3. For the first inning, at least.

For the first time in the College World Series, both starting pitchers escaped the first inning with three outs at the top of the order.

Virginia took out Cal State Fullerton's first three batters to start Monday's elimination game. With Robert Morey on the mound, Christian Colon popped out to second base, Gary Brown failed to survive a slow-rolling ground ball to first and Josh Fellhauer was gone on a hard line drive to first.

Tyler Cannon was up first for the Cavs, but second baseman Joe Scott tossed Cannon's ground ball to Jared Clark for the easy out at first. The Titans waved Danny Hultzen goodbye on his fly ball to center, and then Daniel Renken retired Phil Gosselin on a strikeout.
