OMAHA, Neb. -- Runs have been plentiful in the first innings of both games on Day 1 of the College World Series.

Florida's Brian Johnson hit a hard grounder past third base for a two-RBI single and advanced to second base on the throw, giving the Gators a 2-1 lead after the first inning.

UCLA pitcher Trevor Bauer was called for a balk after failing to pause before delivering a pitch, moving the runners to second and third base.

In both games, all four leadoff hitters have reached base and scored. UCLA's Beau Amaral prevented a bigger Florida outburst, laying out for a diving catch in center field to end the inning.

The Bruins scored a run in the first inning after Dean Espy sent leadoff hitter Niko Gallego home on a high chopper over third base.
