March 23 -- At the University of Memphis, I renewed acquaintances with new coach Tommy West, who formerly was head coach at Clemson, and visited with a number of the area's best prospects. I'd thought it's going to be a down year for talent in the city, but in fact it should be a good year. Among the top players are WR Brandon Wright of East H.S., who's small but really fast; DL Brandon Jenkins, also of East; DL Eiland Means (brother of former top DL prospect Albert Means) of Trezevant H.S.;
