If conference realignment is going to drastically change how many top recruits leave the state of Texas, it hasn't happened yet. Of the state's top 50 prospects for the 2013 class, 21 are currently committed to out-of-state programs.
Last year, Texas picked up 10 commits after the month of November. Six of those pledges came from recruits who were already committed elsewhere. The Longhorns are taking a smaller class this year, so getting 10 late commits isn't feasible.
Katy (Texas) Cinco Ranch running back Jamel James is back on the market. The ESPN 300 running back, who is ranked No. 22 in the nation at his position, is no longer committed to Notre Dame, according to his high school coach, Don Clayton.

Under Brian Kelly, Notre Dame's offense has shown good production on the ground when implementing power runners like Jonas Gray. If that trend continues, the Irish have the ideal load-back with the downhill strength needed to keep defenses honest versus the run which essentially opens up Kelly's potent spread passing game.

Some considered Notre Dame a dark horse to land four-star running Jamel James (Katy, Texas/Cinco Ranch). On Saturday, Notre Dame went from being a dark horse to the future home for the ESPN 300, four-star running back.

College coaches can usually gauge a prospect's interest by whether or not they make the effort to come to campus and attend a camp. ESPN 300 running back Jamel James (Katy, Texas/Cinco Ranch) probably proved his point arriving in Tallahassee on Wednesday morning -- about 740 miles and 12 hours later.
