BATON ROUGE, La. -- For most LSU fans, there is only one spring storyline that matters: the quarterback battle between Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris. Indeed, the competition between junior Jennings (1,611 passing yards, 11 TDs, 7 INTs in 2014) and sophomore Harris (452 yards, 6 TDs, 2 INTs) might determine whether the Tigers re-emerge as legitimate contenders in the SEC West or remain in the middle of the pack like last season's 8-5 club.
With three new assistant coaches and four early enrollees in the fold, LSU is scheduled to open spring practice on Saturday. As is the case each spring, there are a number of positions that are up for the grabs for the Tigers.
Editor's note: This week, we'll take a quick look at each of LSU's position groups as the Tigers prepare to open preseason practice next week. Up next is the offensive line. OFFENSIVE LINE Returning starters: LT La'el Collins (12 starts in 2013), LG Vadal Alexander (13 starts), C Elliott Porter (12 starts), RT Jerald Hawkins (13 starts).
BATON ROUGE, La. -- We're a week away from the start of preseason practice for the LSU Tigers. Since several open spots on the depth chart make this arguably the most important freshman class in Les Miles' decade as the Tigers' coach, we thought it might be a good time to offer a refresher on Miles' thoughts about each signee once they officially became Tigers on national signing day.
BATON ROUGE, La. -- We're closing in on the start of spring practice at LSU, so this week let's take a look at five position battles worth watching this spring. We covered the wide receivers, defensive tackles, quarterbacks and safeties in the first four installments.
BATON ROUGE, La. - National signing day isn't always dramatic, but this could be a memorable one at LSU. Between the half-dozen spots still available, the uncommitted heavyweights who are reportedly still considering the Tigers and the players who have already committed to LSU and recently considered other options, Les Miles and his staff have plenty of work to do before the end of the day Wednesday.

There is no question losing out on five-star in-state offensive tackle Cameron Robinson (Monroe, La./West Monroe) was a big loss for LSU. Left tackles are at a premium and with Robinson's size, athleticism and tenacity he is a player every team in the country would want.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- When players like Tyrann Mathieu, Anthony Johnson and Odell Beckham star for LSU football teams, you better believe LSU fans don't take it for granted. All three are from New Orleans, which, as a metropolitan area, has not been the most loyal Louisiana city to the Tigers.
NEW ORLEANS -- Tad Gormley Stadium once hosted the 1992 U.S. Olympic Track and Field trials, a meet so fast the great Carl Lewis finished sixth in the 100 meters. It was in that same venue on Thursday where Speedy Noil was, quite simply, fast, even in the context of the world class speed the venerable, 76-year-old New Orleans City Park icon has seen gallop up and down its turf and track.
