After games of Aug. 26
The high school football season is just getting started, and there's already plenty of movement in the first ESPN 25 Power Rankings of the regular season.
Making the biggest jump is Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), which went from unranked to No. 16 after defeating then-No. 7 Good Counsel (Olney, Md.) 27-22 in the ESPN High School Football Kickoff. Bishop Gorman three-star QB Jarrett Solomon, an Arizona commit, accounted for four touchdowns in the win.
Good Counsel fell all the way to No. 25 with the loss, while No. 23 Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, Va.) dropped out of the rankings entirely after losing to No. 12 Byrnes (Duncan, S.C.) 42-21.
Meanwhile, No. 1 Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) upended McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.) 31-12 in its opener. The Rams, who are led by No. 1 overall ESPN 150 recruit Robert Nkemdiche, face No. 6 Miami Central (Miami) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET on WatchESPN.com.
