It was a relatively uneventful week for the ESPN 25 Power Rankings with only one team -- No. 14 Allen (Texas) -- falling out. The Eagles were edged by Coppell (Texas) 27-24 in overtime, opening the door for Bentonville (Ark.) to enter the rankings. The Tigers have won their first five games of the season, including a big victory over traditional power South Panola (Batesville, Miss.).
Meanwhile, every other team that played prevailed, including No. 18 Narbonne (Harbor City, Calif.), which earned yet another victory over a quality opponent with a narrow 18-17 win over Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.). Narbonne is led by Washington QB commit Troy Williams.
The big question heading into next weekend is how No. 1 Santa Margarita (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) responds in its first game without senior quarterback Johnny Stanton, who is out for the season with a torn ACL.
