Four-star power forward Brekkott Chapman (Roy, Utah/Roy), the nation's No. 49 player in the ESPN 100, committed to in-state Utah over offers from Arizona, Gonzaga, UCLA and others.

Chapman is a big commitment for Utes coach Larry Krystkowiak after he saw T.J. Haws (Highland, Utah/Lone Peak), the state's top player and the No. 48 overall recruit, commit to rival BYU.

The 6-foot-8, 215-pound Chapman is a long and lean lefty who can finish above the rim with his athletic ability while also knocking down open 3-pointers. He is also a willing passer when he draws a second defender.

Chapman is the first commitment for the Utes in the 2014 class, and he has the potential to be a contributor from the start.
