Elijah Holyfield, the son of boxing legend Evander Holyfield and one of the nation's best high school football players, scored seven touchdowns Friday in Woodward Academy's victory over Decatur.
Holyfield, a running back who is rated at No. 137 overall on the ESPN300 rankings for high school juniors, returned the opening kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown in the 45-13 win. He also rushed for 147 yards and six touchdowns.
Woodward Academy is located in College Park, Georgia. Evander Holyfield lives in nearby Fayette County.
Elijah Holyfield, rated as the No. 18 running back in the ESPN300 junior rankings, has garnered interest from a long list of FBS programs, including Ohio State, Michigan, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Louisville.
