Bill Scholl named Ball State's new AD
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State University has hired University of Notre Dame deputy athletic director Bill Scholl as its new AD.
Ball State president Jo Ann Gora announced Scholl's hiring on Monday. She says he has played a major role in developing a well-rounded Notre Dame athletics department in which many sports enjoy success at the national level.
Scholl has been responsible for supervising Notre Dame's football, men's basketball, baseball and men's soccer programs and overseeing fundraising, donor relations and external revenue. One of his first assignments in South Bend was raising the visibility and stature of the women's basketball program that now routinely ranks in the top 10 in the NCAA for attendance.
The 54-year-old Scholl is a 1979 Notre Dame graduate.
