Denard Robinson out for Michigan
Junior Devin Gardner, who previously has played this season as a wide receiver, got the start at QB for the Wolverines. He completed 12-of-18 passes for 234 yards and threw touchdowns of 45 and 10 yards in the Wolverines' 35-13 win. Gardner also had a 2-yard scoring run.
Robinson aggravated an ulnar injury during last weekend's loss to Nebraska and missed the entire second half. He has suffered the injury a few times during the past few seasons, though it seems to be the most serious right now as he has missed significant time in two consecutive games because of it.
Robinson was on the Wolverines' dress list for Saturday's game and took a few early snaps during warmups. During that time he sported a large white sleeve extending from his jersey cuff to his wrist.
Michigan coach Brady Hoke had said all week that Robinson was improving and would play against the Gophers, but on a cold morning at TCF Bank Stadium the Wolverines decided not to play their senior star.
Robinson hasn't been as dominant this year as expected, but he entered the game with 946 yards and six touchdowns rushing plus 1,319 yards and nine touchdowns passing.Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
