LOS ANGELES -- USC receiver Marqise Lee thinks its "crazy" that USC doesn't have a starting quarterback by the end of their three-week fall camp, which wrapped up Wednesday.

Last year's Biletnikoff winner said he hoped USC would have decided on a starting quarterback by now but USC coach Lane Kiffin is still undecided on whether Cody Kessler or Max Wittek will be the starter when USC opens the season against Hawaii next week.

"Dude, this is crazy," Lee said. "I'm still waiting. I don't know when coach Kiffin is going to actually decide but I hope it's Friday because that's when we start our (preparation for Hawaii). At the end of the day, I guess I'll be rolling with both until Thursday depending on when he decides."

Lee said he doesn't have a preference between the quarterbacks and is still trying to get comfortable with both one week before the season opener.

"I have flaws with both Wittek and Kessler that I need to improve on," Lee said. "It's 50-50. I know you all don't want to hear that but that's all I got."

While Wittek started the final two games of last season for the Trojans, including the Sun Bowl, Kessler has been the better quarterback during the course of fall camp and is the favorite to win the job. Kiffin, however, wouldn't say which quarterback he preferred after the scrimmage, which saw Kessler go 13-for-22 for 218 yards and two touchdowns and two interceptions while Wittek was 15-for-20 for 231 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions.

"We would like to have had it done a long time ago but it's not," Kiffin said. "I don't know off of just watching today prior to going to the film if today cleared it up. Both guys did some good things."

Lee said he would watch film of the scrimmage with Kessler and Wittek and talk to them about what he liked and didn't like.

Lee looked like he may have re-injured his right shoulder during the scrimmage but said he was fine and would start the season opener. He finished the scrimmage with 8 catches for 107 yards while Neslon Agholor had nine catches for 250 yards and three touchdowns.

"I'm going to watch (the film) with the quarterbacks," Lee said. "I think I'm going to go to the crib with Cody and Max and actually sit down and talk about some of the situations we had today."

Even when Kiffin does choose a quarterback, Lee said he would continue to work with both quarterbacks in case the competition continues past the opening game.

"At the end of the day, I don't know, I'm sitting out here just like you guys, lost," Lee said. "I'm going to continue to work with both and if it's not decided by Friday then I'm going to continue to work with both until Kiffin decides. Even when he does decide I'm still going to work with both."

Lee smiled when asked again when he wanted to know who would be throwing him the ball next week when the Trojans open the season at Aloha Stadium.

"It would be good to know by Friday," Lee said. "Would you all like to know by Friday? It would be good to know by Friday but it's up to coach Kiffin and at the end of the day I'll be waiting just like you guys."
