Check out a description of each game and let us know which you feel is the best. After you vote, you will be sent to the next poll. Enjoy!

NBA game of the year:

Kings over the Jazz: Game No. 3 of NBA playoffs. Kings win in overtime and take 2-1 series lead (5/12/99):
The Kings won a home playoff game for the first time since moving to Sacramento 16 years ago. They took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-5 first-round series as Vlade Divac scored 22 points and hit four free throws in the last 56 seconds of regulation and two crucial jump hooks over Karl Malone in the final 46 seconds of overtime.

Jazz over Kings: Game 4 of NBA playoffs. Evens series at 2-2 (5/14/99):
John Stockton sank a 20-footer with seven-tenths of a second to play, giving the Utah Jazz a wild 90-89 victory over the Sacramento Kings that forced Game 5 of their Western Conference first-round series. The Kings took an 89-88 lead with 7.2 seconds remaining on two free throws by Vlade Divac, who scored Sacramento's last seven points. They were one defensive play away from eliminating the two-time defending conference champions and their first playoff series win since 1981, when the franchise was in Kansas City. The 37-year-old Stockton received a high pick from long-time teammate Karl Malone and dribbled to the right wing, where he buried an open jumper.

Knicks over the Heat: Game 5 of NBA playoffs. Knicks win series 3-2 (5/16/99):
Allan Houston's tough leaning jumper with 0.8 seconds left gave the Knicks a historic 78-77 victory over the top-seeded Miami Heat, eliminating their hated rivals on their home floor in the first round for the second straight year. The Knicks were in trouble after a hurting Patrick Ewing missed a jumper and Terry Porter made two free throws with 58 seconds left, giving the Heat a 77-74 lead. But Ewing rebounded teammate Latrell Sprewell's miss and sank a pair of foul shots with 39 seconds to go and Sprewell stripped Tim Hardaway with 24 seconds remaining, giving New York another chance. Houston stepped between two defenders to the foul line and put up a soft shot that hit the rim and backboard before dropping through.

Jazz over Kings: Game 5 of NBA playoffs. Jazz win in overtime and take series 3-2 (5/16/99):
In the fifth overtime meeting between the teams this season, the experience of the Jazz was too much for the exuberance of the upstart Kings in a 99-92 victory in Game Five of the Western Conference first-round series. That experience came not from superstars Karl Malone and John Stockton but from young veterans Bryon Russell and Shandon Anderson. Russell scored 16 points, including the tying 3-pointer with 48 seconds left in regulation. Anderson scored seven of his 16 points in overtime.

Spurs over Blazers: Game 2 of NBA playoffs. Sean Elliott hits game winner (5/31/99):
Sean Elliott made six of seven 3-pointers, two in the final minute, and the last one, off balance and from his tip-toes, came with nine seconds left to give the Spurs an 86-85 victory over the Trail Blazers to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 Western Conference finals series. Elliott barely avoided a steal attempt by Stacey Augmon, then let go from his tip-toes as Rasheed Wallace lunged toward him.

Knicks over Pacers: Game 3 of NBA playoffs: Larry Johnson's four-point play (6/5/99):
A four-point play, an occurrence so rare that New York has had only 16 in 20 years, gave Larry Johnson and the Knicks the unlikeliest of victories in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals. In a dramatic and controversial finish, Johnson got a favorable ruling from one of the officials with 5.7 seconds left, converting a 3-pointer and the ensuing foul shot to give New York a stunning 92-91 victory over the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks went on to win the series in six games.
