Diana Taurasi

Welcome to ESPN.com's moderated chat room. On Wednesday, March 28, Connecticut freshman guard Diana Taurasi dropped by to take your questions as the Huskies get ready for their Final Four appearance.

The Huskies have now advanced to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in 13 NCAA appearances. UConn will face Notre Dame in the semifinals on Friday night (9 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Taurasi, a freshman who didn't even start until Connecticut lost its two returning All-Americans, dominated with her shooting and court savvy in the Huskies Elite Eight 67-48 victory over Louisiana Tech, scoring 17 points and dishing our four assists.

Hello everyone. I'm ready for your questions!
Ryan and Liz from [137.99.158.110], at 4:25pm ET
Yo D... what the deal? How do you manage to stay so focused and fearless during a game when there is so much pressure on you? - Love the frosh managers
Diana Taurasi at 4:25pm ET
I just don't look at it as pressure. Coach always says the more pressure the better you play so that is how we look at it!
becca from [152.163.207.181], at 4:26pm ET
could you have ever imagine all that would happen to you in just your freshmen year?
Diana Taurasi at 4:27pm ET
No. I was just looking to fit in and play a couple minutes and play more my sophomore year. But with the injuries it has been hectic but it has worked out so far.
Rob Kool from [192.236.50.194], at 4:27pm ET
Why has your team been able to gel so quickly, after losing your two all americans?
Diana Taurasi at 4:28pm ET
I think that process started early on in November. We had five new freshman so we had to work together. We've played with lots of different lineups and we have a nice rhythem right now.
Pat Kane from [63.211.187.146], at 4:28pm ET
What are your thoughts on Notre Dame and are you approaching the game any differently now that Svet and Shea are out?
Diana Taurasi at 4:29pm ET
They are a great team, you can't just say you have to stop Ruth Riley, there is more to it than that. You can't key on one thing. We are approaching like any other game but there is definitly more at stake.
snake from [35.10.174.204], at 4:29pm ET
what other colleges did you look at before coming to uconn?
Diana Taurasi at 4:30pm ET
I visited Arizona, North Carolina, UCLA and UConn. It came down to UCLA and UConn.
schultzy from [137.99.161.34], at 4:30pm ET
whats the biggest difference between running the offense in high school, and playing a role in the talented UConn scheme?
Diana Taurasi at 4:31pm ET
In high school you just take a lot of the shots, it's more structured here. It's not very difficult for me because I love playing with great players but there is an adjustment period. When one person doesn't have to do everything it makes you better.
J King from [204.71.174.14], at 4:31pm ET
Fellow Husky here. Do you think the tournament selection was unfair to put you and Notre Dame in the same side of the final four bracket?
Diana Taurasi at 4:32pm ET
I"m not a committee member but from the way things played out, it seemed like we had the toughest bracket. That is just the way the draw goes. Once you get this far it doesn't matter who you play but how you play.
Ashley from [216.61.244.120], at 4:32pm ET
Hey. How often do you work on your shot? When ever I watch your games, it's seems like you can't miss. I've really never really seen anyone shoot like that. That amazes me.
SG from [216.142.163.114], at 4:33pm ET
Are you single??? HA! HA!
Diana Taurasi at 4:33pm ET
Yes. It's hard to be in a relationship in college if you know what I mean!
Kevin Lepore from [168.8.208.2], at 4:34pm ET
Hi, I am an AVID Husky fan! I love how you play. Do you have any pre-game rituals? I am 15 yrs. old, and play basketball too...do you have any adise for me?
Diana Taurasi at 4:34pm ET
I've never believed in rituals. Lots of people do but I take a different approach. Don't ever feel pressure, just have fun playing and work hard.
scott from [63.86.142.140], at 4:35pm ET
do you think any women will start leaving early to join the WNBA?
Diana Taurasi at 4:36pm ET
There is a lot of great young talent so it might happen in the future but not now. The money isn't there. To this day, the college game is still the more exciting game. I don't think it will happen anytime soon. I don't think it would be a good idea.
Corey from [24.160.32.154] at 4:36pm ET
I have a quiz in Multiple Research Methods in 25 minutes, any big game pep talk you can give me?
Diana Taurasi at 4:36pm ET
Corey - it's multiple choice so choose C. Study hard and you will be fine.
Kevin Lepore from [168.8.208.2], at 4:37pm ET
What has been the emotion w/ Shea and Svet on the sideline? What does Geno tell yo guys in the huddle at end of games?
Diana Taurasi at 4:38pm ET
THe emotions have been on the highest level they can be. It has been sad because they brought so much to the program and made the program what it is. To this day we still use that as motivation.

Coach tells us to play everday like it's the last game. Every time we see him it raises our intensity level.
Pat from [206.31.190.21], at 4:38pm ET
Diana, How do you like CT?
marc from [24.4.252.37], at 4:39pm ET
do you think it will be a close game friday
Diana Taurasi at 4:40pm ET
I think it will be a very tight game. Both teams are evenly matched inside and out. Whoever maintains their compusure will win. It's how much you want that ring and we are desperate so we like our chances.

Thanks for all the questions. This was fun. Keep tuning to ESPN.com, this is the place to be!!
