Florida State backup running back Mario Pender won't play against Miami, but the redshirt junior is out of the hospital. He suffered a collapsed lung Sept. 22 after bumping into a lineman at practice. Pender lost 18 pounds in the hospital and will miss a few weeks, but Fisher said he is in "great spirits."

Florida State running back Dalvin Cook (left hamstring) practiced the last two days, but Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher said it's still up in the air if Cook plays against Miami on Saturday. The fact Cook has practiced is probably a good sign he'll be able to play in some capacity for the No. 12 Seminoles. Senior linebacker Terrance Smith (ankle) is out, but safety Nate Andrews (knee bruise) could see a limited role.
