Redskins cornerback Chris Culliver was fined $11,567 for unsportsmanlike conduct during Sunday's game vs. Carolina, a league official confirmed. He was not fined for his hit on tight end Greg Olsen. But Culliver made a slashing gesture across his throat after scoring a touchdown that was later overturned. During the week leading into the game the Redskins defenders had talked about cutting the music so QB Cam Newton wouldn't dance. Mike Jones of the Washington Post first reported the fine.

Culliver also underwent an MRI on his shoulder earlier this week and the Redskins are awaiting a second opinion. Safety Dashon Goldson said of Culliver, Hes concerned . Hes had to battle some things this year. Hes frustrated with that so for him to go down, Im sure theres a lot of frustration."
