The Mavs pride themselves on protecting the ball, committing the fourth fewest turnovers in the NBA, which makes the 36 turnovers committed during their two-game losing streak even more frustrating. "Were beating ourselves," guard Raymond Felton said. "As a team collectively, were going to figure it out just like we did before and start another win streak."

Dirk Nowitzki on the message the Mavs received from starting this road trip with two losses: "Weve got to get better. We knew that during the six-game win streak. Weve got to keep working. Weve got to get better defensively, work together, end the possession with rebounding and then we can get our flow game working. We gave up [117] in OKC and 110 to a slow-paced team. Its just not good enough."

No. 7 Baylor is in a good spot to find its way into the playoff if things fall just right. Seeing No. 8 Ohio State drop below the Bears, when the Buckeyes could have easily landed ahead of Baylor after a close loss to Michigan State was good news for Art Briles team. The committee made it clear that while it was hesitant to put Baylor in the mix before it considered Briles team to be battle-tested, it respects the hard-fought loss to No. 3 Oklahoma and double-digit road win over No. 11 Oklahoma State.

The committee preached patience with regard to the Big 12, saying the conference was saving its best games for last. Those words are coming true with tonights rankings of No. 3 Oklahoma and No. 7 Baylor representing the clear amount of respect for both teams. The third-ranked Sooners seem set to land a playoff spot, particularly with No. 11 Oklahoma State as their final test. Baylor seems in perfect position to strike if any of the six teams above them falter and Fridays road trip to No. 19 TCU providing another chance to add to the resume.

Fade Dwight Powell

He's been a good under-the-radar value play during the start of the season. But with JaVale McGee back in the lineup for Dallas, Powell's playing time looks to get cut back -- he only played 13 minutes last game. DFS building blocks
