'Rushing for 1,200 yards may not be enough'

Cowboys NFL Nation reporter Todd Archer discuss Tony Romo's health and how he's looked so far in the offseason, the expectations for Ezekiel Elliott and why rushing 1,200 yards in 2016 might not be enough, how Dez Bryant is progressing from his foot injury and what the plans are for DE Randy Gregory.

Now we know why Texas fired defensive backs coach Chris Vaughn in February. Vaughn is accused of multiple Level I violations in the NCAA's notice of allegations that Ole Miss released Friday morning. Vaughn, an assistant for the Rebels from 2008-11, reportedly engaged in an ACT fraud scheme for three recruits in 2010. He's also accused of helping provide impermissible benefits and lying to NCAA investigators.

Greg Hardy is best available free agent

The mercurial defensive end is still on the market for reasons other than football, but Hardy can still play. John Clayton thinks some team will give the 27-year-old a shot. Best remaining FAs

How Art Briles foreshadowed his own demise

Art Briles has talked about his "nonjudgmental" program that wanted "mavericks" and prided itself on giving second chances. That attitude, mixed with indifference toward victims, did him in.

I'm told Baylor is not expected to make an announcement regarding its interim coaching situation tonight. Defensive coordinator Phil Bennett is reportedly in talks to take on that role.

I'm not sure if the reduction in Odor's suspension from 8 to 7 games is due to the illegal slide by Bautista or respect for his right hook

Jeremy Crabtree RecruitingNation

Three members of Baylor's 2016 top-20 recruiting class that signed in February said they have not been officially notified one way or the other by the school if they will be released from their letters-of-intent. The signees asked not to be identified at this point said they have already been reaching out to other schools to gauge their interest. Four Power 5 recruiters told me Thursday they expect most of the Bears' 2016 class to end up looking at other schools with Art Briles' firing.
