Here are the Cowboys' picks so far through two rounds: 1. Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State; 2. Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame; 3. Maliek Collins, DT, Nebraska. Unless they move back into the third round, they will have six picks Saturday with two in the fourth and four in the sixth.

The Cowboys went with defense for their second straight pick but expect to get production this year out of this one in Nebraska defensive tackle Maliek Collins with the 67th pick in the draft. Collins was more productive in 2014 (14 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks) than in 2015 (seven tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks). He is the pure three-technique that Rod Marinelli likes.

At the start of the season the Cowboys will not have their four most-recent second-round picks on the field with this year's selection Jaylon Smith needing a redshirt year because of a knee injury. The 2014 second rounder, DeMarcus Lawrence, is facing a four-game suspension and the 2015 second rounder Randy Gregory, will miss the first four games because of a suspension. Tight end Gavin Escobar, their second rounder in 2013, is expected to start the season on the physically unable to perform list because of a torn Achilles.

Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen and Blues goalie Brian Elliott lead their teams onto the ice for warmups.

Jaylon Smith graded out as a Top 5 player before the knee injury. Pass rush ability, athleticism and pro size. Rare talent. Could be a steal for the Cowboys when he is fully healthy and back on the field. Smith is expected to sit during the 2016 season.

Todd Archer ESPN Staff Writer

The Cowboys have made the move with Notre Dame LB Jaylon Smith at No. 34 overall. He will not play this year but the Cowboys are comfortable giving him time. Team doctor Dr. Daniel Cooper performer Smith's surgery and knows everything that needs to be done big healthy Cowboys would have considered him at No. 4.

Mel Kiper Jr. breaks down the film on Dallas' second-round pick, Jaylon Smith. What makes the linebacker such a special talent?

Todd Archer ESPN Staff Writer

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said they will be "heavy" defense in the rest of the draft but also mentioned quarterback and interior offensive lineman as possibilities. Losing Ogbah and Dodd with first two picks of second round hurt.
