The Eagles certainly have developed more depth along the offensive line...But I think you'd take Marc Colombo and Leonard Davis over Winston Justice and Nick Cole/Stacy Andrews right now. Right?Gurode's better than Jamaal and Flo and Peters are a push as of this very minute. At the skills positions, I think the Eagles are a little deeper. Yes. But the Cows have more depth at TE. Interesting topic -- probably for a different forum.

in your blogs during the eagles-giants game your writing seemed to infer that the large scoring difference was due to the giants poor play, giving almost no credit to the eagles defense. Now a few days later, do you still believe that the giants lost the game or that the eagles won it?

I think it was a combination of both. I think the Eagles played really well -- and the Giants offered little resistance. It was an impressive win, but I think we're still deciding which Eagles team will show up. We're only a couple weeks removed from that Oakland outing.

If you're talking about how the quarterbacks are playing right now, I'd go with Romo, McNabb, Eli and Campbell. Overall, I still think Manning's the best QB. But he's in a really bad place right now.

I think it sort of depends on how the game's going. If he gets hot, I think Jason Garrett will keep feeding him the ball. Some guy are very productive in limited touches. There's no guarantee that more carries would double his numbers. I think for now, he's a guy that you sort of throw in here and there.

I haven't heard that Harrison wants to come out of retirement. And it's not like he's a great coverage guy at this point in his career. I wouldn't go down that path. The move should've been made this past offseason -- when more guys were available. But the Giants didn't need a starter at the time. But yes, Brown's not up to the task.

I think Roy Williams is a talented receiver, and I think Roy and Romo will get in sync eventually. Does anyone ever consider the fact that Romo has been with Austin, Crayton, Hurd, and Witten for 4 seasons and Roy has been around for year? Romo has about the same chemistry with Martellus Bennett on the field at the moment. I think it'll just take a little more time.

They stood up and played against a bad Nebraska team in the second half. I took a little solace in that. If you can't make a 24-yard field goal, you're going to have trouble staying in games. We found out that we truly are a one-player team when Griffin went out. Briles won't let that happen again.

Mosley, I think the Giants problems can be traced to the loss of Spags and Strahan. Our defense seems to lack a leader and the pass rush is nonexistent. Do you think there's any truth to this assessment?

I think you're wrong on the leadership aspect. Pierce and Tuck are both proven leaders. You may have something on Spags. Sheridan doesn't seem to have any answers right now. Not enough of a pass-rush and the safeties are horrible. Maybe Jerry Reese should've gone after someone like Sensabaugh in the offseason. But he obviously thought Johnson and Phillips would be fine. C.C. Brown is a really bad option. Rouse not much better, though.

Jerry remembers being an underdog early in his career -- and he's drawn to those folks. Ogletree was a long shot -- and he has a little ability. Jerry's already working on the next Miles Austin.

I think it's definitely something the Cowboys think about. But once the game starts, that stuff doesn't matter. I think the Cowboys have to get some hits on Donovan McNabb early. If he gets in a rhythm, they could be in trouble. I don't like the Jenkins-Maclin matchup for the Cows. Don't like it one bit.

He gets a ton of credit on the NFC East blog. Really good guy, too. Folks around the league know all about him. He's just not a "me" guy like some of the more well-known sack artists. But he's an every-down guy who constantly gets it done. He doesn't care about the lack of recognition

You might recall that the Eagles' secondary coach was the Cowboys' defensive coordinator last season. I think they'll know how to attack Tony Romo. I think you'll see more blitzes than you saw against the Giants, which will require Jason Garrett to keep Jason Witten and Martellus Bennett in to block more than usual. I think the Cowboys will have a really hard time running the ball on the Eagles.

Jones is a very serviceable free safety. And he has a lot better grasp of the defense right now. I thought he had a good day against the Giants. Smart decisions. Bunkley's really come on strong the last couple seasons. He and Patterson are part of the reason McDermott didn't have to blitz a lot against Eli.

Andre Carter is having a career year and Orakpo is getting sacks when he is at the line because of Haynesworth being such a force in the middle. Countless NFL analysts are aware of this, but you seem to be blind to it. I guess this shouldn't surprise anybody with your unprofessional reporting of the Redskins from calling them an embarrassment to the NFC East, to you basically making it clear that you havent seen any Redskins games the entire season. I think the potential weaknesses are still up front with Justice and Cole on the right side. And I'm not sold on Sean Jones as the starter at safety. Not that Macho's any better, but I think Jones is vulnerable if you get him in a matchup with Witten or Bennett. Very vulnerable. And Mikell can't cover Witten either.

Thanks for listening to our radio show!! I think there are some matchups the Cowboys can exploit. Asante Samuel is a guy who loves to take chances. But he avoids contact at all cost. I'd try to hit Austin on the run and see if he can break a tackle. That's what he seems to do best. Heck, maybe even throw it over to Roy Williams and see what's he's up to. But Witten's the guy McDermott's planning around. Trust me on that one!

Well, it's sort of the game of the week, Brian. Regarding the Giants, I think they have to find something on defense that works. In the past, that's been a great pass-rush. I'd sell out to get to Philip Rivers. You already know that C.C. Brown's going to blow coverage, so do everything in your power to hit the QB before he can exploit him. On offense, how bout you try to run the ball early in the game. Right now, Eli Manning can't be trusted. Let him ease his way into the game instead of trying to ask him to throw it downfield immediately. He simply can't be trusted right now. Not sure whether it's the injury or just a slump.
