Hicks Sports Group announced Tuesday that Houston businessman Jim Crane and his advisers were at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington to hear presentations about the club as the serach for potential investors continues.
The meetings included club president Nolan Ryan and general manager Jon Daniels, among others. The Hicks Sports Group release described the meetings as "routine and part of the normal due diligence process."
More meetings with other potential owners are expected in the next week or two.
"It gives them an opportuinty after doing their due diligence, to come in and ask additional questions and bring in whatever advisers that they want to bring in with them," Ryan said. "It's really a fact-finding deal."
Ryan said the next step is for the groups, once they've heard the presentations, to put together updated proposals and have those ready just before Thanksgiving.
