Hicks Sports Group announced that the Texas Rangers hosted yet another potential ownership group Wednesday as Dennis Gilbert and his staff came into town.
As with the previous groups, Gilbert's folks met with club officials in baseball and business operations, including general manager Jon Daniels and president Nolan Ryan. Gilbert is the special assistant to the chairman of the Chicago White Sox.
HSG's release said the meetings, which took place at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, included a tour of the facility. As with Jim Crane and Chuck Greenberg last week, the meeting was described as "routine and part of the normal due diligence process."
Tom Hicks said Tuesday that he thinks a new owner will probably be known by the end of the year.
